Daily Projects or Discussion Points
On this page are observations, or discussion points, or suggested projects school children may like to be involved with. In going round my route it is not always easy to get the achedemic aspects suitable for a children of primary school age. Never the less I hope I have set up the point so it sparks an interest or is a reminder when they meet the subject again at secondary level (or even university). When I started researching each point, particularly the historical points and I had not appreciated that somewhere across Britain is some evidence or artifact, that sets out the history of our land over the last 10,000 or more years. I also did not expect to find that we had the tallest building in the world until 1549 in Lincolnshire, that we have the bridge with the longest suspended span at 1410 metres in the world until 1998, or that you can still walk to the 4 corners of Britain and only go through a dozen or so large towns; but then did you know there are now over 700 long distance footpaths.
